About
Shorecrest Preparatory School is a coed, nonsectarian, PK3-12 independent school founded in 1923 at 5101 1st Street NE in the Snell Isle/Northeast St. Petersburg waterfront area. The Upper School offers approximately 26 AP courses; the Global Scholars Initiative lets students concentrate in international studies and advanced languages in lieu of an IB diploma. Tuition includes lunch for all students, and a 7:1 student-teacher ratio is maintained school-wide. The Experiential School (ages 3-5) operates with an 8:1 ratio and two teachers per classroom. Accreditations include the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS, since 1955) and Cognia.
