1. What we collect
We only collect what we need to match your child to the right schools:
- Quiz answers:child's age or grade, ZIP code, budget range, priorities, scholarship eligibility, support needs.
- Profile data:child's first name (optional), approximate GPA or test percentile when you provide it.
- Email address: only if you sign in or join a waitlist. We never buy or scrape email lists.
- Usage analytics: anonymized page views, clicks, and quiz completion data via PostHog. No names, emails, or addresses are sent to analytics.
2. How we use it
- Match schools to your child. Your answers drive our matching algorithm — see how we calculate fit and admission probability.
- Personalize results. We use your priorities and location to rank schools you actually care about.
- Send updates — but only if you explicitly subscribe or join a waitlist. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click.
3. Who we share with
We never sell your data. Full stop. No advertisers, no third-party brokers, no list resellers.
We share your contact and profile information with a school's director only when youexplicitly engage with that school — for example, by claiming a tour, requesting more information, or starting an admissions prep kit on that school's page. You see the school's name before that hand-off happens, every time.
We do not share your information without that explicit action.
4. Data retention
We keep your quiz answers and profile data for 12 months by default, so we can re-match you as schools update their data and as your child's grade level changes.
You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@admitcompass.com. We'll delete your account and associated data within 30 days and confirm by email.
5. Child data (COPPA)
FitMySchool is designed for parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13. For students under 13, the parent provides the data on the child's behalf, and we apply a minimum-necessary principle: we only ask for what we need to match schools (age or grade, ZIP, support needs, priorities). We do not collect contact information for children.
If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information directly, email us at privacy@admitcompass.com and we will delete it.
6. Updates to this policy
We version this policy. The current version is Privacy Policy v1.0, dated 2026-05-25. Material changes will be announced by email to anyone with an account or active waitlist signup before they take effect.
