St. Francis Preparatory School is a coeducational Catholic college-preparatory high school in Fresh Meadows, Queens, founded in 1858 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn. With approximately 2,500 students it is the largest Catholic high school in the United States. The school occupies a large former public-school campus on Francis Lewis Boulevard and offers a broad curriculum including honors and Advanced Placement courses across all major disciplines. St. Francis Prep fields one of the most extensive Catholic-school athletics programs in New York, competing in the CHSAA, and sustains a long-running performing arts and music program. Admission uses the TACHS exam administered to Catholic high school applicants across the Brooklyn/Queens diocese.
