Birch Wathen Lenox School (BWL) is a K-12 coeducational independent day school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, formed by the 1991 merger of the Birch Wathen School (founded 1921) and the Lenox School (founded 1916). The school enrolls roughly 600 students and is known for a traditional college-preparatory curriculum, small classes, and a strong athletics program competing in the ACIS and NYSAISAA leagues.
