Bank Street School for Children is a coeducational nursery through 8th grade progressive independent school on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, founded in 1916 by Lucy Sprague Mitchell. The school serves as the laboratory school of Bank Street College of Education and is one of the most influential progressive schools in the United States.
